Lake Powell - July - Second Time

The Lake Powell May trip was good, but this June trip was better.  The water was very warm, the temperatures were high, the skiing was great, the company was really good.  On this trip, Craig and Judy Christensen were going to come, but Judy got pneumonia and was in the hospital the whole time we were at Powell.  Two of their kids came with their families - Craig Jr and his wife Angie and their children Jessie, Sierra, Colton and Hannah.  Jeff came with his son Cody.  From our family, we had Curt and Melanee (these guys are the regulars now) and Marc, Brittney, Mason, Ali and Tyce.  What a treat having these young ones.  With Craig and Judy cancelling, Scott Robison and his grandson Ryker begged to go.  Scott and Marianne will be leaving in October for their mission to the Netherlands, so he had to get one last Lake Powell excursion in.

Yea, like Marc could have a gut like dad.
Theron is trying out Tyce's wading pool.
Mason and Ali were little fish, they got in the water most of the day and of course someone had to be there with them, so many times I was in the water - on this trip I felt water logged.  That's perhaps the most time I have spent in the water.  Little Tyce didn't like the water with his jacket on so he spent his days running up and down the hall in the boat, touching everything, exploring how things worked, and opening and closing the sliding doors.  No doubt Brittney was tired after this vacation.  Tyce didn't sleep well so they would load him on the jet ski and away they would go; about two minutes out, Tyce was asleep.  What a great water bed.

Everyone (except me of course) skied to until their were tired, sore and sunburned.  Even Curt was getting to tired to drive the boat and asked Scott to take the group skiing so he could have a nap.

There were the usual hikes and the water was high enough that the group could hike to the Indian ruins down Escalante.  Great time, great memories, love the family for coming.

What else do you do when you're too tired to swim and play?  You have Sierra paint your face.

As with all new years, I approach it with some goals in mind and expecting changes to occur in both our life and the lives of our family.  ...
