We are spending our childrens inheritance

This is the year of big purchases.  For some time, Theron and I have been thinking about trading the motor home in on a truck and 5th wheel trailer.  Well, we did it.  We went to the RV show in Salt Lake and tramped through at least 30 trailers (it really seemed like 130).  We found this one that we liked the best and that was big enough - we wanted a 31 foot and ended up with a 36 foot one.  It has a fireplace, central vac, king bed, 3 slide outs, a large shower, and a double refrigerator.

We literally bought the cart before the horse this time - the trailer needed a pick-up truck, so we traveled to our good friends at Murdock and purchased a one-ton Chevrolet diesel - I wouldn't have a stinking diesel was our saying all these years and now we own one.  Well, it doesn't stink, the new ones have some filter that makes it so it doesn't smell.

We were ready to roll - we waited a good three weeks for the trailer to be delivered and then took a two day trip to Crystal Hot Springs in preparation for a week trip to the drags in Las Vegas.

Theron has been working feverishly to finish the "basement" in the trailer by putting slide-out shelves and racks, buying lots of hoses and things.  This will be a luxury to go camping now - they call it "Glamping" - glamor camping.  It is nice to recline in our lazy boy chairs or lay on the couch in a comfortable position to watch TV.  As you can see, Theron doesn't have to travel far to eat and relax!

This will be our travel life for a while - as I have said - I'm tired of airplanes and such and traveling all over the world.  I'm content to stay on land and ride and walk around.  There are so many neat places we have seen and need to "re-see" and places we haven't seen and need to "see".  We are ready to hit the highway!

Cameron turns 11 years old

Where does the time go.  I remember when Cameron was just a little baby and then a toddler and now he is 11 years old.  He graduated from Cub Scouts and is now officially a Boy Scout and can start working on his Eagle and all the merit badges leading up to that achievement.

Cameron also competed in the District Math Competition!  Wow, what an achievement.  Good going Cameron.  I also can't believe that it has been one year since he broke his femur bone in the motorcycle jump of the year.  The doctors all say he is just fine and should grow to be a tall, nice looking, creative, fun, smart young man -- well maybe grandma embellishes a little for them - but it will be true.

Happy Birthday Cameron!

The big box is the race car!
Grandpa and I gave him a 9 generation family history chart.  We want him to remember who he is and how many people are depending on him to make this life count.

A New Year - 2024

As with all new years, I approach it with some goals in mind and expecting changes to occur in both our life and the lives of our family.  ...
