June 2018 - Grandchildren Memories

Where this is a journal and we are not always around to see grandchildren activities, this page is dedicated to pictures our kids have posted on Instagram, Facebook or sent to us.  The technology is so delightfully great for sharing lives.

Tyce graduated from pre-school this year.

Mason did another year of baseball, go slugger and he played his first piano recital.

Ali did a dance program and Tyce played his first year of baseball.
I am so proud of Marc and Brittney for helping the kids remember Grandpa and Grandma Schaefermeyer.

 This is just sweet, Tyce learned how to ride a two wheel bicycle.  Look mom no training wheels.

 Neala moved to Texas and Elynn is getting to fragile to hold the annual 4th of July picnic and parade party.  So we went to Riverton this year.  Jesse showed us how the dancing girls flipped.

Morgan High School Class of 1968 - the 50th Year Reunion

In May of 1968, I graduated from Morgan High School, Morgan, Utah with 68 other kids that I had attended school with from kindergarten to high school.  That was life changing for me and a very big accomplishment.  I then left Morgan for college, teaching career, marriage, life, etc.

 This year on June 2, 2018, 26 of us got together at the high school and celebrated 50 years of life.  It was amazing how much we remembered about our school days and how difficult it was to recognize each other in our 50 year old bodies.  Eight of our class have died.

 These are good friends, Jim Taylor and Jill Hayes Allred.

 This is a good foursome - Jewell Pentz Woolsey, me, Vernae Gale Felt and Margie Chard.

 Karen Nelson and I were good friends.

Beverly Crouch and I had many a good time together.

Good times remembered.

Lake Powell - June 2018

It was a family reunion (and Justin).  What a treat to have all our family down to the Lake and the houseboat ran well.  Theron, Marc, Curt and Justin still spent plenty of time working on things, but the engines ran well -- they should they are new.  This is a normal Lake Powell picture of Theron.

The lake level was perfect for our favorite spot.  We parked at the little cove, that is so private and this year lots of sand for the kids to play in.  The hiking was a little more difficult, but it still worked.

All of the kids are turning into little fish and it makes my heart proud that they are all learning to swim.  I never learned, but that is something I always wanted our kids to do and by golly, they all swim.  Adrian doesn't swim as much because the water is always too cold - wimp.

We could not have asked for better weather.  It was hot in the day and cooler at night.  The spot afforded us shade most of the day.

The fishing (smell, smell) was okay too.  Mason caught a fish and all the kids loved to see the fish pulled from the water.  It was just idyllic.  Makes me happy.

Finished Swimming Pool and Backyard

It was months of construction and days of waiting for some contractors to come back and finish things they started, but it is now worth it!  We came back from Lake Powell on June 15 to a finished swimming pool.  The next week we had finished landscaping.  That same week, June 22-24, Marc, Brittney, Mason, Ali, Tyce and Kacy came down for a Tuacahn trip.  The kids loved the pool and it was the best babysitter ever.

One night the kids wanted to swim with the lights on, so we went in a little after dusk and swam for a good hour.  We brought the kids in to get ready for bed and they were almost asleep before we could get them dressed.  It was so cute.

The pool has been something Theron and I have talked about over the years.  We never thought we could afford it, but the sale of our NSL home and a bit of luck and it's just what we want for us and the family.  We have used it almost everyday and every night.  Theron does lots of "night" swimming.  He's not getting very tan though.
