Our First Missionary - Cameron. Here's an MTC Year-End Update

Cameron started his MTC at home, December 20, 2021.  Adrian, Todd and Taylor were his companions.  He set up his study area in Todd's office and worked very hard at typing and zooming.

Then, Taylor was exposed to Covid and rewarded Cameron with a gentle sickness.  Taylor was quarantined and so was Cameron.  He was supposed to enter the Provo MTC on January 5, 2022, but it was postponed to January 8, 2022.  He is now totally immersed in Spanish and learning how to live with other guys 24-7.

As always, missionaries have to give hand signs in pictures.  Smile on Cameron!!!

Happy Mission 2022 and 2023!!!!!

The Wrap-up to 2021

The end of October, mom had a stroke that left her almost blind.  Assessing that she could no longer take care of herself properly, we made the decision, of which she agreed, that she should go into an assisted living center.  Morgan has a great one and they happened to have a room available.  Her savings and finances worked out perfect for this first year.  Knowing she is comfortable and taken care of, I felt better about our voyage to Yuma this year.

We traveled to Yuma, Arizona, the week before Christmas this year.  Cameron is spending two weeks in home MTC, we just had a family party for his farewell, so we decided this Christmas not to travel north.  We hooked up the new trailer, the side-by-side and traveled south.  So glad Theron is still able to maneuver a semi-truck length of equipment.

Arriving in Yuma, we celebrated Christmas with our friends - Miltmores, Simonsens, and Davis'.
We all brought appetizers and ate at Jack and Gina Miltmore's home.
This is Christmas in Yuma.  Even the bear gets into the spirit of things.

Service
Since arriving in Yuma, Theron has been doing service, much more ministering than we would do at home:  moving the power line from one side to the middle of our lot; rewiring the main power box to accommodate the Tesla; installing a new toilet in Reed's trailer; building a deck for Reed and Nel; finishing the solar wiring in our trailer; wiring a new inverter for Glen; working at the food bank . . .
The new trailer is a delight.  We really enjoy our family room area - it's warm and cozy.  We even spent some time to put a puzzle together.

Happy New Year 2022!!

A New Year - 2024

As with all new years, I approach it with some goals in mind and expecting changes to occur in both our life and the lives of our family.  ...
