The Paschals take the boys home to Florida

March is finally here and that means the big trip to Florida for the Paschals.  The boys are going back to their roots, we hope they decide to come back to Utah.

It has been lots of years since Adrian, Todd, Cameron and Taylor have visited Florida.  Taylor was forgetting and I asked if he could remember some things and he told me no.  It's hard to lose your memory of fun things so early in life.

The two weeks of mid-March were long awaited and then it was here and so was DisneyWorld, Universal Studios, visiting the old neighborhood, living with the Guerras, swimming in the ocean, and basking in the sunshine.  Life is good these two weeks.

It's always good to go home for a visit. Todd even found a relative, guess he won't bring her back though.

Winter is slowly melting

We had record snow fall this year and it has taken to the end of February to get it melted.  In fact, yesterday, March 13, was the day we took down the final Christmas decorations off the front lawn.  The house lights still remain for warmer days.

Mason and Ali were a little tired of winter, also.  Marc drew their outlines on the sheets of paper and then they decided to lounge around and lay on the beach.  Cute!  As Mason says, "Tyce sleeps alot."  He is too little to get into the pictures but here is one of the kids.

With the start of summer, we started cleaning up around the garage - we can fit two cars just nicely!  We took the old reindeer for a ride to the dump and gave them a new home.  We also took dozens of old pipes to the dump.  Theron was turning his head and crying, but we did it anyway.  The house feels lighter now.

As dad says, these are the first deer to be hauled in this truck!  They had a great ride with the wind blowing through their faces.

Don't know if I have mentioned, we bought a new pick-up truck and 5th wheel trailer.  We have the truck but the trailer is having a hard time getting here.  Hope it's hear before summer.  I'll write later on this experience.

Camping out at home

(Kids, I think I got the e-mail fixed so you should receive these posts again.)
This was supposed to be a good, calm week.  Theron left on Sunday for Washington D.C. where he stayed with Tony and drove to Baltimore to work on Monday and Tuesday.  He was flying home on Wednesday - was is the operative word.  There was a large snow storm on the east coast and his flight was cancelled.  We called and called and could only get him on a Friday afternoon flight home.  I thought, okay, I can live with that.

Last week our dishwasher's electronics decided to fry themselves and so we have been without a dishwasher for - well now - two weeks.  The dishwasher repair man was scheduled to come on Thursday to fix the beast.  He showed up at 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning and asked, "Where are the parts?"  Parts, what parts, you are the repair man.  In looking at the computer, the parts were due to arrive at 10:00 a.m. Thursday.  Okay, good timing.  Then he tells me that the parts that are coming are really the wrong parts to fix the beast.  "Would you like me to reorder the parts?"  Dumb question I think - of course I do!  How else will you fix the machine.  To add further to this plight, he then asks, "Do you want this fixed soon or can you wait until Tuesday."  I'm controlling myself and calmly answer - SOON.  Okay, Fed Ex will deliver the parts on Friday at 10:00 a.m. and I'll come in the afternoon.  Good thinking, I think.  So, I'm still without a dishwasher as of this writing.  We'll see if he can actually fix it.

On Wednesday night, I notice the house is getting cooler on Thursday morning I know it is colder and check the furnace which is flashing an F13 error.  I call Theron, we try to reset it, it continues to flash F13.  The fan on the boiler is not working.  If the boiler isn't working, then the water heater is not working - maybe that is why I had a lukewarm shower Thursday morning.  We call the repair man and he shows up Friday morning - I slept last night with the electric blanket on high and a little heater from the motorhome running all night downstairs.  Paws slept by the heater and is continuing to complain about the cold.

The furnace repairman takes the furnace apart; yep, the fan is fried and needs to be replaced.  Okay, replace it - to the tune of $800.  There is a place in Salt Lake that has a fan; he just called, they were wrong, they don't have a fan.  He will have to now drive to Ogden - I hope they have one.  Meanwhile, I'm sitting here with electricity and the Internet freezing - the faster I type maybe my blood will circulate faster and I'll warm up.

With no hot water, I am boiling water on the stove to wash the dishes and I used a little to wash my face and armpits.  This is called camping out in your own home; naturally, we just spent lots of dollars on a new 5th wheel and it isn't here otherwise, I could have camped in it and had all the conveniences of home.

Are these good times or what!

A New Year - 2024

As with all new years, I approach it with some goals in mind and expecting changes to occur in both our life and the lives of our family.  ...
