Spendlove Christmas Party

With mom in assisted living and Covid still lingering in the air, the annual family Christmas party just about didn't happen.  However, by a little careful planning, I was able to get a party together perhaps for one last time.  Mom wanted to invite Jimmy and Elizabeth Shill and Carolyn this year; I think it was a good way to see everyone perhaps for one last time.  This is the end of a generation:  Jimmy is from Dearl, Carolyn is from Elvira, and mom is from Inez.  The last of these first cousins that grew up together.

Marc was able to get the Church across the street from his house, we set up tables and chairs threw some plastic tablecloths on, made some sloppy joes, salads and things and waited for everyone to show up.  Denzil and Susan came but only Dustin and his family were with them.  Dawain and Jana's family were there.  Linda did bring Lucy and Quinn (Mom finally got to see him for the first time.) My family was there in total.  Rodney made it.  Kelsey and her family came from Janeil's posterity.  Lisa was going to come but was exposed to Covid at the last minute so she had to stay in Washington.

Now that mom has lost her eyesight, there will be no more crocheted dish towels.  An encore performance from grandchildren singing us all a Christmas song was the hit of the party.  Merry Christmas to all in 2021.
