Family Trip to Lake Powell - June 1 - 8, 2013

When you go to Lake Powell, you take your chances on the weather, the boat, the water conditions and temperature and finding a good spot to park.  June is a fickle month and you really take a chance on all of the above.

However, this June was GREAT, that's all you can say.  The weather was in the 90s and 100s; the nights were cool but they started out hot.  The water temperature was good down about 4 inches, but it was really nice once you got into it.  It was about 75 degrees.

All of the people who wanted to ski, wakeboard and body surf got as much as their bodies could handle.  In fact, the best skiing was in the channel - go figure.

The spot was fantastic - we had a sandy beach front where you could walk right off the boat.  A little lagoon that was no deeper than 3 feet, a jumping rock, and all the climbing you would want to do.  It was so fun to watch the kids - they were ADD - let's go swim, let's make a sand castle, let's do the long boards, let's kayak, let's wakeboard, let's jump of the rock, let's bury ourselves with sand, let's ---------.  It was run from one activity to another all week long.
Taylor made his own swim pool.

This year our family group consisted of us, Todd, Adrian, Cameron, Taylor, Neala, Curt and Melanee, Justin Wood, Cindy, Ky, Zack, Kasha, Zylee (guess I got them spelled okay).  Zylee is about 14 months and the word for the trip was "da".  Everyone was "da" especially her dad.

Scott and Marianne Robison wanted to come also and they brought the big yacht.  This is the first time they have traveled this far with this boat - oversized load sign and all.  Jason and Nikki Robison and three of their kids also came down and brought a boat.  It was a great way for 22 of us to spend a week.

Scott and Marianne would often dine on the yacht.

For this summer - that's vacation #1.  Wait until you see our other travels this year.
